When the news broke that Arnold’s son, JOSEPH BAENA competed at the NPC Natural Colorado, it sent shockwaves throughout the fitness industry. This is the moment countless bodybuilding fans have been waiting for. And interestingly, out of all of The Oak’s kids, it’s JOE who has the most striking resemblance to his superstar dad. JOSEPH has that signature look, he has the frame, and with youth on his side, the sky’s the limit. Although his decision to compete naturally might have thrown many fans a curveball, it makes all the sense in the world. He’s doing things the right way. Afterall, bodybuilding is a sport that requires tremendous patience and perseverance. What’s very noteworthy is that Joseph went from competing in the NPC to then competing in the INBA.
The INBA is one of the strictest natural bodybuilding federations in the world. Their testing efforts leave no stone unturned. And what’s remarkable is that Joseph went from competing in the NPC – the largest amateur federation in the world – to then competing in one of most scrutinized natty feds on the planet all in the course of a few weeks. Joe went from competing in his first-ever contest with the NPC, to turning professional with the INBA/PNBF. Talk about going all the way to the top!!
BAENA’S success has ignited many interesting conversations throughout the Facebook groups, Instagram pages, and the seemingly endless YouTube channels on the net. Some are talking about the natty or not argument, others are wondering if Joe will ever get on the rocket fuel, and others are talking about how far JOE can go naturally. Let’s not forget that bodybuilding greats like KAI GREENE and RONNIE COLEMAN not only turned pro, naturally, but competed as natties well into their pro careers. More recently, we look at KEONE PEARSON, who was natural and placing Top 6 at major pro shows as recently as just a decade ago. What will JOE do? It’s as if the entire internet wants an answer to that question!!
